Memorial Funds at Ashland Schools Foundation

While death is a part of life, it’s always more difficult when we lose young people before they’ve had a chance to live out their lives. One way to help is through honoring and remembering those we’ve lost through memorial funds. Two such memorial funds have been set up recently at the Ashland Schools Foundation. Both of these funds will benefit the Ashland schools.

The Ethan Townsend Memorial Fund - Ethan Townsend, a 2003 Ashland High School graduate who was killed recently in a hiking accident in China, was regarded by friends as compassionate and brilliant.The Ethan Townsend Memorial Fund at the Ashland Schools Foundation has been established to support the Student Tutoring Center at Ashland High School as tutoring other students was a passion of Ethan’s.

The Kipp Crawford Memorial Fund - Kipp Crawford, a 1996 graduate of Ashland High School, was killed at the age of 31 as a result of a tragic accident in Portland, Oregon. Kipp was a skilled drummer who followed that passion into a professional life of music and studio recording. The Kipp Crawford Memorial Fund will be used to create enriching opportunities for jazz musicians in the Ashland Schools.
