The Kipp Crawford Memorial Fund
Kipp Crawford, son of Vern and Jean Crawford and a 1996 graduate of Ashland High School, was killed at the age of 31 as a result of a tragic accident in Portland, Oregon. Kipp was born in Ashland, and at the age of 11 began drum lessons, becoming a skilled drummer who followed that passion into a professional life of music and studio recording. Kipp embraced music, particularly jazz, and shared that love with those around him.
The Kipp Crawford Memorial Fund will be used to create enriching opportunities for jazz musicians in the Ashland Schools. This could encompass bringing musicians in to work with the AHS Jazz band or percussion classes, or other creative ways that might inspire young musicians to follow their hearts into the world of jazz. We are working to garner enough donations to create a permanent endowment in Kipp's name that will support jazz and band at AHS in perpetuity. The Ashland Schools Foundation is honored to create this fund in Kipp’s name in hopes that other students may be inspired to expand their music and follow in Kipp’s generous footsteps.
